Chateau Cos d'Estournel
Named after the spirited owner, Louis Gaspard d'Estournel, this Chateau has been pushing the boundaries over the last of centuries. In the early nineteenth century, Louis was one of the first in Bordeaux to begin exporting to faraway lands such as India. The affiliation was so strong with Southern Asia that it inspired the truly unique architecture that adorns the St. Estephe landscape.
When purchased by Michel Reybier in 2000 he was quoted as saying 'Cos and only Cos', when asked about the reason for his purchase. Thankfully for Cos d'Estournel enthusiasts, Reybier, much like d'Estournel, has a pursuit of excellence at Cos d'Estournel. This is evident through his significant investments in strategic initiatives, including the installation of state-of-the-art winemaking facilities based on the laws of gravity.
