Chateau Ducru Beaucaillou

Many wine properties adopt their name from previous owners, but Durcu Beaucaillou is instead named after the unique soil in which the vines grow. 'Beaucaillou' roughly translates as 'beautiful large stones', due to the land being scattered with them, offering exceptional wine making conditions. The chateau was recognised in the 1855 Classifications when Ducru Beaucaillou was granted 2nd Growth status.
Ducru Beaucaillou's current manager, Bruno Borie, has proved to be a huge success, with many critics claiming the estate is producing the best wines in their history today. As the third generation to run the chateau, today Bruno is producing quintessential St.Julien that is powerful, harmonious and built for the long term.
