Chateau Pape Clement

Chateau Pape Clement, Pape Clement, Fine Wine Investment, Fine Wine, Investment, Bordeaux Wine

As the name suggests, this property was once in fact owned by a Pope, Clement V in 1305. Fast forward a few centuries and the estate was purchased in 1939 by the Montagne family. With a desire to return this magnificent Chateau to the forefront where it once stood, the family invested heavily in renovating the vines and cellars. Now with Leo Montagne and Bernard Magrez at the helm, the quality and consistency have never been better, with greater impetus on grape selection and new oak casks.

The 2016 vintage scored a highly respectable 95-97 points from Neal Martin, with the critic saying, 'It continues Pape-Clement/Bernard Magrez' move towards a more classic style compared to the previous decade.' We at Noble Rot are encouraged by the quality of recent vintages and expect to see even more improvement in the coming years.
