Château Cissac has made a splendid 2020, which impressed us all when we tasted it – dark crimson and full-bodied with rich complex dark fruit flavours and soft silky tannins giving plenty of depth & balance. A lovely wine that will age beautifully. The yield in 2020 was a mere 21 hectolitres per hectare (the average is 35-40hl per hectare) which explains the depth of flavour here – and horses were used for the first time in their vineyards!
At only £8.50 a bottle in bond, it is great value for money. This impressive Château sits on a gravel plateau between Pauillac & St Estephe. The blend is 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot & 5% Petit Verdot with the wine being aged in oak for 12-15 months.
