Recently elevated to the sought-after status of Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel, Lilian Ladouys has continued its success this year with a remarkably opulent & feminine Saint-Estephe (perhaps the most succesful appellation in 2019), belying the area’s norm for heavyweight wines. Neal Martin was so impressed that he awarded 92-94 points, writing, “it feels more Margaux than Saint-Estèphe!” Sublimely smooth and well-integrated tannins support a clean, mineral mouthfeel, with black fruits, blueberry and a hint of violet. There is a gorgeous hint of salinity on the mouthwatering finish that begs you to return for another sip. A real find for us all.
