Château Mauvesin-Barton, owned and run by the Barton family alongside *Chateaux Leoville and Langoa Barton, has come of age with easily the best wine they have ever produced and at only £150 a case is one of the bargains of the vintage!
 
It is the best Mauvesin Barton we have ever tasted. The 2022 has a lovely fragrant, juicy character, with expressive, ripe, black fruit, floral notes and spice. It's open and delicious now, but there's also the structure and complexity to age well.

Purchased in 2011 by the Bartons, who immediately set about improving quality, renovating the vineyards and cellars with great results, bringing the same expertise and experience to bear at Mauvesin as at their prestigious Saint-Julien châteaux (which have been in the Barton family for eight generations). Damien Barton Sartorius feels this is the best wine that the Bartons have ever made at Mauvesin since they acquired it in 2011; a reward for all the hard work and investment and we are in full agreement.
