Louis Jadot Beaune 1er Cru Célébration 2018

“disarmingly seductive… utterly delicious" Neal Martin

Louis Jadot have just released a very special cuvée, - their 2018 Beaune 1er Cru Célébration – a stunning blend of 16 of their 1er cru Beaune vineyards that they only make in outstanding vintages - 2009, 2012, 2015 and now 2018.

The 2018 vintage of this rare cuvée has received considerable critical acclaim:-

  • Leading Burgundy critic Allen Meadows of Burghound singles it out as one of his ‘outstanding’ wines of the vintage: “This is definitely a child of its vintage… decidedly suave, round and velvet-textured texture… could easily be enjoyed now…or held for up to a decade with good results”.

  • Neal Martin calls it “disarmingly seductive” and “utterly delicious”, noting its “smooth and silky texture, tart red cherries and crushed strawberry... cashmere texture”.

When we tasted the wine it was as good as the critics reported - a beautiful wine full of crunchy red fruits – a joy in the glass and made yet more compelling by its very reasonable price which is rare for a Burgundy of this quality.

This is wine for all of us Burgundy lovers – I particularly recommend it in the magnificent big bottles.
